Beware horse float scams and other fraudulent ads targeting Aussie equestrian websites

Scammers have been using Australian equestrian websites to post fraudulent advertisements for horse floats and other high value items. Unsuspecting buyers have been ripped off thousands of dollars.

When purchasing a high value item, like a vehicle or a horse float, always examine the item in person before any money changes hands. If you can not examine the item in person (if it is interstate, for example), do not consider buying it. Never pay for goods by bank transfer or transfer services like Western Union or MoneyGram. Instead, request a more secure payment method like Australia Post's Cash on Delivery Service.
