When you adopt from a rescue you are giving a dog a chance at a life they deserve. The more dogs we can rehome the more we can save from being put to sleep in pounds and shelters around the country. Every year hundreds of thousands of unwanted dogs and puppies are euthanised in pounds and shelters throughout Australia.
People often think rescues only take in the dogs who have health or behavioral problems. This is not true. We take dogs from loving families who can not longer own a pet due to moving or financial problems. Some are the victims of divorce, illness, allergies, a new baby, inexperienced owners, a move that didn't include them, and many other reasons.
All of our dogs are with foster families and are never put into a shelter. During the time the dogs are with our carers they are assessed with children, other dogs, and cats (where possible). This also allows us time to complete all their vet work and to ensure they have settled into the family environment.
We have all types of dogs; all shapes and sizes, cross-breeds, young puppies and old dogs. Rescues are filled with dogs who would like nothing more than a chance at a happy life, and to have a family to call their own.
When adopting a dog from us you will find our prices are a less expensive than buying from a pet store or a breeder. Why? We keep our adoption fees down to enable more dogs to be rehomed. All of our dogs and puppies will have the following vet work completed which is included in the adoption fee:
* Desexing
* Vaccinations
* Microchipping
* Wormed Intestinally
* Heartworm prevention
* Flea treatment
* Health checks
Any other vet work that is required for each animal will be carried out prior to adoption and is included in your adoption fee.
Furkids Animal Rescue offer a 2 week trial period for all dogs adopted. We also offer behavior training if required. If after this period in time you feel you have chosen the wrong dog we will offer you a refund of the adoption fee less $50 admin fee.
