If you are planning to handraise this season I have Brand New Digital thermostat controlled bird brooders ready now.

External Dimensions are 51cms wide, 46cm high, 34cms deep.

Easy clean melamine build with all tinted perspex door.

These brooders have two standard bulbs so should one blow the second will be functional to keep bubs warm until you replace the second bulb. Great peace of mind that a blown bulb won't result in cold babies. Bulbs are standard so they are easily sourced from any supermarket, bunnings, even your local IGA or foodworks should stock them. Inexpensive to replace and easy to source so no high ongoing costs.

The brooders use very little electricity (about the equivalent of running two lights in your house) so the running costs are minimal.

The digital thermostat is designed to be "set and forget" effectively. You simply set the temp you want the brooder at and the thermostat takes over and turns the lights on and off to maintain that temp. No getting up through the night to check the babies are at the right temperature. The thermostat will do that for you just as your fridge thermostat keeps your fridge cold this one will keep your brooder at a steady temp.

By default the thermostat is designed to only allow the temp to drop 1⁄2 a degree below your set temp before turning the lights back on to bring the temp back up so the variation is temp is always at a minimum which is of course optimal for babies digestion and development. This variance can be set lower but the default is 1/2 a degree.
